Paid Service Terms
These Paid Service Terms ("Paid Terms") supplement the Terms of Service and govern all financial transactions, subscriptions, and credit purchases on The Story Maker platform. In the event of a conflict between these Paid Terms and the general Terms of Service, these Paid Terms shall prevail for payment-related matters.
1.0 Subscription Plans
1.1 Available Plans
The Service offers the following subscription tiers:
- Free Tier — 5,000 initial credits (365-day expiry), up to 3 projects. No subscription fee.
- Starter Plan — ₹15,000 — 16,500 credits (15,000 base + 10% bonus), up to 15 projects, 365-day credit validity.
- Professional Plan — ₹30,000 — 34,500 credits (30,000 base + 15% bonus), up to 100 projects, 365-day credit validity, priority AI processing.
- Enterprise Plan — Custom pricing, dedicated support, custom model configurations, and team management features. Available on request.
1.2 Plan Features
Specific credit allocations, project limits, and feature entitlements for each plan are displayed on the Pricing page and may be updated from time to time. We will notify existing subscribers of material plan changes at least 30 days in advance.
2.0 Billing & Payment
2.1 Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely through Razorpay, a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor. We do not store your full credit card or bank details on our servers. Payment instruments are tokenized and stored by Razorpay.
2.2 Currency & Pricing
All prices are displayed and charged in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise specified. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes (GST) where required by law. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' notice.
2.3 Billing Cycle
For recurring subscriptions, billing occurs on the same date each month (or annually, depending on your plan). If your billing date falls on a day not available in a given month (e.g., the 31st), billing occurs on the last day of that month.
2.4 Failed Payments
If a payment fails, we will retry up to 3 times over 7 days. If all retries fail, your account may be downgraded to the Free tier. You will retain access to your existing projects but new AI generation capabilities may be restricted.
3.0 Credits as Virtual Items
3.1 Definition
Credits are Virtual Items within the Service. They are a unit of account used to access AI-powered features and do not constitute currency, property, or a stored value instrument. Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for real money, goods, or services outside the Service.
3.2 Types of Credits

3.3 Consumption Order
Credits are consumed in the following priority order (first-expiring-first-out):
- Bonus Credits (earliest expiry first)
- Signup Credits
- Subscription Credits (current cycle)
- Purchased Credits (earliest batch first)
4.0 Refund Policy
4.1 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
For Purchased Credits only: if you have not consumed any credits from a purchased batch, you may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of the purchase date. This right aligns with EU consumer protection directives and is extended to all users globally as a matter of policy.
4.2 No Refund for Consumed Credits
Once credits from a purchased batch have been partially or fully consumed (i.e., used for any AI generation, feature unlock, or other credit-deducting operation), that batch is no longer eligible for a refund. The "No Refund" policy applies because AI generation incurs real-time compute costs with our third-party providers.
4.3 Non-Refundable Items
- Signup Credits, Subscription Credits, and Bonus Credits
- Credits consumed through any AI generation or feature usage
- Expired credits of any type
- Credits forfeited due to account termination for cause
4.4 How to Request a Refund
Email contact@thestorymaker.app with your account email, the transaction ID (from your payment receipt), and a brief reason. Eligible refunds are processed within 7-10 business days to the original payment method.
5.0 Subscription Cancellation
5.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle — you retain full access and unused credits until then.
5.2 Effects of Cancellation
- Credits: Subscription credits expire at the end of the billing cycle. Purchased credit batches continue until their individual expiry (365 days).
- Projects: Existing projects are retained but subject to Free tier project limits (3 projects, 30-day retention).
- Data: Your data is retained per our Privacy Policy retention schedule.
6.0 Price Changes
We may modify pricing for plans and credit packs from time to time. For active subscribers, price changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following at least 30 days' notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
7.0 Taxes
You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or levies applicable to your purchase based on your location. Where required by law, we collect and remit applicable GST/VAT. Tax invoices are available in your account billing history.
