Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains when purchased credits are eligible for a refund and how refund requests are reviewed and processed. It supplements the Paid Service Terms, which governs all payment-related matters.
1.0 General Policy
Payments made to The Story Maker are generally non-refundable, except as described below or where required by applicable law. Because AI generation draws on real-time, metered third-party compute, refunds are limited to unused purchased credits and are reviewed manually rather than issued automatically.
2.0 Eligibility — 14-Day Cooling-Off Window
If you have not consumed any credits from a purchased batch, you may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of the purchase date. Once any credits from that batch have been used for a generation, feature unlock, or other credit-deducting operation, that batch is no longer eligible for a refund.
Not eligible for a refund at any time:
- Signup credits, referral bonus credits, and other promotional credits (no monetary value)
- Credits already consumed through any AI generation or feature usage
- Expired credit batches
- Credits forfeited due to account termination for cause
3.0 How to Request a Refund
Email contact@thestorymaker.app, or use the contact form, with:
- The email address on your Story Maker account
- The transaction ID or invoice number from your payment receipt
- The reason for your request
4.0 Review & Processing
Refund requests are reviewed manually by our team. Since there is no automated refund pipeline, timelines are estimates, not guarantees:
- Initial review: typically within 2 business days of your request
- If approved: processed manually via Razorpay to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days
- Bank/provider posting: your bank or payment provider may take additional time to reflect the refund in your statement, outside our control
5.0 Unauthorized or Disputed Charges
If you believe a charge was made without your authorization, contact your bank or payment provider immediately to flag the transaction, then reach us via contact@thestorymaker.appwith the transaction details. We'll work with Razorpay to investigate.
6.0 Contact
